Plugins/marketplaces GET routes were silently empty because codex-cli.js
never unwrapped the CLI's {installed,available}/{marketplaces} objects
into arrays; backup writes bypassed the symlink-escape guard entirely;
readFileSafe was stricter than every other Codex reader, showing a
symlinked skill/rule in the list and then refusing to open it;
marketplaceAdd only accepted http(s) URLs, rejecting owner/repo sources
the CLI itself takes. Also: docs drift, a dead i18n key, and a scope-cast
hazard in the shared Editor/ConfirmDelete modals.
Fixes, one per finding: unwrap installed/marketplaces in codex-cli.js so
every list route keeps returning a bare list; guard the backup path in
codex-mutate.js with the same assertNotSymlinkEscape the write path
already used (Claude's cc-mutate.js has no such guard on its primary
write path either, so left untouched there); relax readFileSafe's
containment to lexical-only, matching the other four Codex readers,
while leaving the write side's realpath check untouched; reuse
cc-plugin-cli's assertSource for marketplaceAdd instead of a third
validator (ssh remains out of scope, no credential story for it yet).
Server: 1557/1557 (was 1548). Client: tsc -b clean, 469/469 tests.
Isolate the codex-CLI-backed reads (mcp/plugins/marketplaces) from the
file-backed ones in fetchAll via two independent Promise.all groups, so a
missing `codex` binary degrades only the mcp/plugins tabs instead of
leaving the whole panel stuck on skeletons. Generalize EditorModal's
nameless-type detection behind a `namelessTypes` prop (defaulting to
Claude's own ["memory"]) so Codex's config.toml can be created without a
name. Port BackupsModal, disable the plugin/mcp Remove button when no
stable identifier resolved, hide the inert search box on memory/config,
drop a redundant empty state, and reword the delete-dialog copy to be
tool-neutral.

Review feedback: string widening dropped the compile-time guard at the
write/delete boundary right where the Codex panel (the next task) starts
writing into this state. Threading <TType extends string = CcArtifactType>
through EditorState/EditorModal and ConfirmDeleteState/ConfirmDeleteModal
keeps CcConfig.tsx's write/delete calls checked against CcArtifactType by
default while still letting a Codex-typed caller instantiate its own union
later, removing the two `as CcArtifactType` casts.
Moves FileViewer, EditorModal, ConfirmDeleteModal, ToastNotice, MdItemList,
ScopeBadge, and the shared atoms (Empty/SkeletonRows/CopyButton/formatBytes)
into client/src/components/config/ so the upcoming Codex config panel can
reuse them. EditorModal now takes a fetchContent callback instead of calling
api.ccConfig.file itself; CcConfig.tsx supplies the Claude-specific fetcher.
The moved EditorState/ConfirmDeleteState type field widens from
CcArtifactType to string so non-Claude callers can use them too, with a cast
at the two remaining Claude-specific call sites in CcConfig.tsx.
