Desktop-parity phase 6, following Claude Desktop:
- the workspace home's Worktree checkbox starts the pane with
`claude --worktree=<name>`, so Claude Code makes, populates
(.worktreeinclude, WorktreeCreate hook) and cleans up
<repo>/.claude/worktrees/<name>; AgentHub only excludes
/.claude/worktrees/ at the repo root (Claude does not)
- server/lib/session-worktree.js resolves a session's worktree from the
session row only (owned by the workspace, registered by git worktree
list); every lane git route takes ?session= and answers ENOWORKTREE
instead of falling back to the main folder
- the session view's Changes panel works in the opened run's worktree
(dashboard_runs.worktree, GitTarget in the client api)
- Resume/Fork start in the session's worktree; a gone one is ENOWORKTREE
- Archive of a worktree session removes the worktree after asking:
git worktree remove without --force, git branch -d (unmerged work keeps
its branch), a lock held by a live pid refused, a stale one cleared
- listWorktrees reads `locked <reason>` locks
- tests scrub GIT_* env so the pre-commit suite cannot act on this repo
Workspace sessions (docs/plans/desktop-parity, phases 1-5 and 7):
- sessions.lane_id: a workspace lists only the sessions its panes held,
stamped by bindRunSession (first writer wins, nested `claude -p`
excluded); GET /api/sessions?lane=&archived=
- session row state dot, double-click rename, archive (sessions.archived_at,
hides only); the activity bar's duplicate Sessions tab removed
- Fork beside Resume (--fork-session, Claude only), Ctrl/Cmd+click a live
session opens it in a second pane, a diff line's comment is pasted into
the workspace's last-focused pane (lib/panePaste.ts)
dashboard_runs stability:
- a pane's previous run is archived as <pane>@<started_at> instead of being
overwritten by INSERT OR REPLACE
- a run is flagged abandoned only once its tmux session is gone, at boot and
on the run-heal beat (panes outlive a server restart)
UI:
- sidebar: no footer, language or theme block; small collapse button in the
brand corner; version + update check in the connection details modal, a
status-bar dot while a release is out; language in Settings -> General
- one Switch component for every switch, the themed Checkbox for every
checkbox (no native checkboxes)
Also: AI Tools catalog trimmed to 10 built-ins (custom-file prompt modes
tested through fixtures), and the workspace plans under docs/plans/ (the
multi-user server plan lives in the AgentHub-Server repo).
/workspace?lane=<id> opens on the workspace's home (WorkspaceHome): a prompt
box whose Start opens a new session in the first free pane slot, Recents (a
live session attaches its pane, any other opens its transcript, nothing
resumes), and Instructions / Memory / Context / Folder. Instructions live in
lanes.instructions, extra folders and uploaded files in the new lane_sources
table (copies under <data dir>/workspace-context/<lane id>/); spawnRun reads
them from the lane's rows and hands Claude --add-dir + an appended system
prompt file, Codex --add-dir + developer_instructions. Memory is read-only.
Every dashboard pane carries AGENTHUB_RUN_ID; hooks forward it and the run
records which session the pane holds (a Claude pane follows /clear and
/resume but not a nested claude -p), so the sidebar and notifications open
the right pane (&run=). Settings loses its Projects group; Worktrees now
decides which worktrees Add folder suggests.
Copy-only rename (workspace redesign, phase 0). The word a user reads
changes — "Lane" → "Workspace", "Add lane" → "Add workspace" — in both
locales, in agenthub CLI prose and help, in the server's error messages
and in the docs. Every identifier stays: /api/lanes, `agenthub lanes`,
--lane, AGENTHUB_LANE_ID, error codes, tmux names, DB tables, file,
component and i18n key names. docs/LANES.md keeps its name, retitled
"Workspaces (lanes)".
Pricing: the LiteLLM sync now adds every current Claude / GPT (>= 5) /
Gemini (>= 3) chat model before it is used and keeps its own rows
(model_pricing.source = 'sync', the Auto badge) at the published rate. A
user's row (any PUT) and a deleted pattern (model_pricing_dismissed) are
never touched; a deleted built-in row is not re-seeded at the next start; a
reset re-applies the list at once; retired Claude models are priced only
once used.
Models: GET /api/ai-tools/:id/models reads each tool's own list (Codex's
models_cache.json, Claude's aliases named after the newest version plus
priced versions, a catalog tool's vendor rows plus the models its sessions
used). A catalog `model: {flag, vendor?}` field passes `<flag> <id>`
(validated: never a flag or shell text); a per-tool default model starts
each run, and a resume keeps the session's own model.
Settings: every installed, enabled catalog tool without its own tab gets
one (AiToolConfig.tsx): path, homepage, Update, sessions/cost/lanes,
default model, vendor pricing, and the config files its release catalog
lists, edited over the opened sha, syntax-checked, backed up, written
atomically; credential-looking names refused. Antigravity keeps its hooks
card there.
Lanes: a just-started run no longer reads "dead" (age counts the run's
start while the old session is still bound); a second dashboard on the
same database re-broadcasts the lanes the other changed (PRAGMA
data_version, every 2 s); a lane start with a bad model answers 400.
DB: every migration runs under a cross-process lock (<db>-migrate.lock), so
two dashboards started at once on a fresh database both come up.
Part B: Model Pricing, Hook Configuration and CLAUDE_HOME move from
Settings → Dashboard to the Claude Code tab's AgentHub sub-tab
(ClaudeAgentHubSettings.tsx); CODEX_HOME is editable in Codex → AgentHub.
A home that is or contains the OS home is refused (EBADHOME).
Settings persistence: dashboard-saved settings go to
~/.config/agenthub/settings.env (AGENTHUB_SETTINGS_FILE), outside the plugin
cache an update wipes. Load order: real env > the checkout's .env > that file.
The first CLAUDE_HOME change pins DASHBOARD_DATA_DIR so the DB stays put.
C1: codex-usage.js reads Codex rollout journals into sessions (new column
tool) and token_usage, tracked per file in codex_rollouts; forks deduped by
total vector, sub-agent threads folded into the root; pricing-sync also
prices OpenAI models; PricingSettings with a vendor filter.
C2: codex-hooks.js installs AgentHub's hooks into $CODEX_HOME/hooks.json on
a click, through a stable forwarder; Codex trust is never written. The hook
route creates tool='codex' sessions and folds sub-agent hooks into the root.
D: antigravity-usage.js reads agy's per-conversation SQLite files (tokens
from ModelUsageStats) into tool='antigravity' sessions; antigravity-hooks.js
installs the named hook `agenthub` (PreInvocation, PostToolUse, Stop — never
PreToolUse) into ~/.gemini/config/hooks.json; Settings → Antigravity tab;
Gemini pricing.
Whole-change review fixes: sameOriginGuard on both home PUTs, routers.missing
on a CLAUDE_HOME change, reset-pricing scope, GET /api/sessions?tool=,
clear-data covering the new tables, Codex child-thread events moving no
status, hooks owning status only while current, EFOREIGN for a forwarder
that is not ours, agy quiet window and turn rules, AGENTHUB_SETTINGS_FILE
honoured from .env.
Docs, OpenAPI and the CLAUDE.md marker updated. Server 2141, client 779.
server/lib/ai-tools.js loads server/data/ai-tools/*.json (38 tools, data from
Orca, MIT) plus DASHBOARD_AI_TOOLS_DIR, detects each CLI by walking PATH, and
keeps enable/default in <data dir>/ai-tools.json. shell-path.js merges the
login shell's PATH at startup and on Refresh. /api/ai-tools lists, refreshes
and toggles; /api/run/binary resolves through the catalog.
Lanes accept any catalog id (EDISABLED for a disabled one on creation, ENOTOOL
at start once a tool left the catalog). pty-run keeps the Claude/Codex
builders and builds every other tool's argv from its catalog file, pasting an
after-start prompt through a tmux buffer; every pane gets the hydrated PATH.
A per-run bypass switch appends the catalog's bypass args (Codex included).
POST /api/run now forwards sandbox/approval/resumeLast, which it dropped.
agenthub lanes add gains --tool.
- antigravity: a third lane tool running Antigravity's `agy` CLI. `-i`
carries the first prompt, `--continue` resumes; `agy` has no model,
effort or permission flag, and `--dangerously-skip-permissions` is never
emitted. No pipeline, no agents install, and no AI Router (native only,
else EUNSUPPORTED). Add lane gains an Antigravity choice and the binary
probe maps it to `agy`.
- UI: the lane card no longer renders a frame holding only a "Codex" chip,
and the prompt box names the lane's CLI ("Ask Codex anything…"), via
LANE_TOOL_LABEL.
- runs: a pane that exits is released on a 10 s server beat
(healAllRunIds, DASHBOARD_RUN_HEAL_MS). Codex and Antigravity fire no
hook, so their lanes stayed "running" until something re-read them.
- codex: Start no longer sends resumeLast — only "Resume last session"
continues the previous thread.
- tmux targets are exact (`=name`, `=name:` for panes/options): a bare
`-t agenthub-lane-1` resolves by prefix to agenthub-lane-12 once lane 1
is gone, so killing a finished lane could kill another.
- getRun/killRun refuse ids that are not `agenthub-lane-<n>`, so
DELETE /api/run/main can no longer kill a user's own tmux session.
- router/apply reports restart_required only for a running pane; getRun
returns a `gone` handle, so it was always true.
- needs_action is cleared only by the session that raised it (new nullable
lanes.needs_action_session); a second session in the same cwd used to
clear it on its second hook.
- Split view: every pane shows the selected lane, each in its own tmux
session (`slot` 0-3 on POST /api/lanes/:id/start; slot 0 stays the
lane's `run_id`, slots 1-3 are `agenthub-lane-<id>-<slot>`). A pane's
Active runs hides what the other panes show; stop/reset/remove kill
every slot. No per-pane lane picker any more.
- Whole-file editor: PUT /api/lanes/:id/git/file (lane-file-write.js)
with the read path's guards, existing text files only, and a baseSha
stale check (409 ESTALE). A file it cannot take says why.
- Per-hunk review bar under each hunk's last changed line: prev/next,
"n of N", Undo, Keep. Review diffs no longer nest their own scroll box
(unless windowed), so navigation moves the one real scroller.
- Files tree lists untracked-not-ignored files and colours entries by git
status (M/U/A/D/R), folders holding changes get a dot.
- Changes panel: Unstage all on the single commit/Stage-all row; sizes
Narrow (30%) / Medium / Full screen, no 70/30.
- Lane card: the needs-you banner is gone (the strip tile keeps it).
Terminal (issue #33):
- `convertEol` is gone from xterm. It rewrote every bare LF as CR+LF, so a
tmux pane that scrolled (tmux emits a bare LF and keeps drawing at the
column it was on) had the rest of that draw land at column 0, stamping a
line's first characters into the left margin of the rows below — the torn
left edge that only showed up once content scrolled.
- The attach carries the client's real size (`?cols=&rows=`, `sizeFromQuery`
in `server/websocket.js`, bounded because it reaches a TIOCSWINSZ ioctl).
`attach()` spawned `tmux attach-session` at a hardcoded 80x24 on every
attach, and tmux sizes the window to the newest client, so `claude` redrew
its whole UI at 80 columns until the first `resize` message landed.
- The terminal takes the keyboard on mount, so typing reaches tmux without
clicking the pane first.
- A pane that ends (double Ctrl+C, `exit`, a crash) reports itself through a
new `onExit` prop and `LaneConsolePane` runs `newRun()`, so the console
returns to the setup form instead of leaving a dead pane behind a
"New run" button.
Pane environment:
- `server/lib/desktop-env.js` forwards the graphical session's DISPLAY /
WAYLAND_DISPLAY / XAUTHORITY / XDG_RUNTIME_DIR (from
`systemctl --user show-environment`, this process's own values winning)
into the pane. The server normally runs as a systemd user service with none
of them, so `claude` there could not read the clipboard and answered "no
image found in clipboard" on every image paste.
Run setup:
- `auto` is a permission mode and is now the default everywhere — allowlists,
the `--permission-mode` fallback, the select, and the pane's initial state.
- The model picker sends the CLI's aliases (`fable`/`opus`/`sonnet`/`haiku`)
instead of pinned ids. `claude --model` resolves an alias to the latest
model itself, so a release like Fable 5.1 needs no edit here; pricing is
unaffected because it keys off the resolved id the transcript reports.
- **Create/update readme file** moved from the Add-lane modal into the lane's
Tools menu: creating a lane and writing its docs are separate decisions,
and the second is worth re-running long after the first.
- The Workspace's no-lane state is a real banner; the lane strip (add tile
included) renders only once a lane exists.
Refs #32, #33.
Tests: npm run test:server (1828 pass), client vitest (558 pass).
A new **AI Router** tab in Settings, next to Codex, stores named router
endpoints (9Router, OpenRouter, a self-hosted gateway) as profiles: a base
URL, an API key, a default model and an optional per-tier override. The tab
only stores them; a lane CHOOSES one in the Add-lane modal, via a Native /
AI Router radio, and that choice is written into the lane's own config.
The two CLIs are configured differently, and the difference is theirs:
- a claude lane gets eight `env` keys merged into its own
`.claude/settings.local.json` (`.local` because the value holds a key);
- a codex lane gets `$CODEX_HOME/<name>.config.toml` — the layer
`codex -p <name>` loads — because Codex has NO project-level config.
Its base `config.toml` is never touched.
Native is a built-in profile rather than a code branch, so "go back to
native" is the same write path. It blanks the two connection variables
instead of removing them (an absent key at project scope lets a USER-level
router apply) and removes the model names instead of writing them (writing
them would override the user's own global model choice).
Key material never leaves the server: profiles live one file each under
`<CLAUDE_HOME>/agenthub-routers/` (0700/0600), `GET /api/ai-routers`
reports only `hasKey`, and there is deliberately no route returning one
profile in full.
Three things this had to get right, each found by review and verified
against the real tools rather than assumed:
- `wire_api = "chat"` is rejected outright by codex-cli 0.149 ("no longer
supported"), so every codex lane on a router would have failed to start.
The layer writes "responses", and writes `env_key` only when the profile
actually has a key — naming an unset variable is itself a startup error.
- The key must never be TYPED into a pane. `tmux.sendCommand` used
`send-keys` with a `KEY='…' cmd` prefix, which the dashboard streams to
every attached browser and bash appends to history; it now takes over the
idle pane with `respawn-pane -k -e`, passing env through argv the way
`newSession` always has. Verified on tmux 3.4: multi-element argv arrives
intact and the pane renders no trace of the value.
- Attaching COPIES a profile, so editing or deleting one in Settings has to
reach the lanes already using it. An edit re-applies it (a rotated key
would otherwise never reach the lane still holding the revoked one); a
delete resets those lanes to native and removes the Codex layer file.
Both report per-lane failures, which the tab surfaces.
`.claude/settings.local.json` is added to the lane's git exclude, for both
native and router lanes: `agenthub lanes reset` runs `git clean -fd` without
`-x`, so an un-excluded settings file is deleted on reset — and untracked
meant the key was committable.
DB: `lanes.router_profile`, nullable, additive. Written only by
`setRouterProfile` beside the disk write, never through `PATCHABLE`.
Starting a run on a machine without tmux surfaced `spawnSync tmux ENOENT`
as a 400 — blaming the request for a missing host package, naming no fix,
and reaching the user as a raw errno in the console pane.
The guard goes in spawnRun, which both spawn paths (POST /api/run and
POST /api/lanes/:id/start) already route through, so one check covers
them; the message carries the install command. Both routes map the code to
503: the request was fine, the dependency is not installed. The client
already renders `error.message` from the body verbatim, so no UI change.
Also: README's node advice said "stay on 20/22/24"; 1712 server + 488
client tests are green on v26.8.1, so only 25 is actually the bad one.
`dashboard_runs.mode` is NOT NULL and `recordRun` swallows insert errors by
design, so pty-run.js passing `mode: null` meant NO tmux-backed run was ever
persisted — the newest row in a live database dated from before pty-run.js
replaced run-spawner.js. `publicRun` reads cwd, model, prompt preview,
started_at and session_id off that row and the handle itself is recomputed
from tmux, so the runs modal rendered a live row with no cwd, no model, no
prompt and a start date of Jan 1 1970. The same missing row is why a resumed
session kept its separate `external` badge: the client dedupes an external
session against the session ids carried by run rows, and no run row ever
carried one.
- pty-run.js records `mode: "interactive"` — every run here is one pane.
- dashboard-runs.js still never fails a live run on a db error, but warns
instead of swallowing silently; that silence hid this for six weeks.
- RunHistory renders `startedAt: 0` as "-" rather than dating a row with no
known start time to the epoch.
Also closes the other half of the same lie: adopting a pane that is already
running an agent now throws ERUNLIVE (409 from both the lane start action and
POST /api/run) when the request carried a prompt or a resumeSessionId. That
argv cannot be typed over a live agent, so answering 200 reported a resume
that never spawned. A start asking for nothing but a pane still adopts.
Clean break, no compatibility alias. Renames the product name, the CLI
binary (`ccam` -> `agenthub`), the env var prefix (`CCAM_` ->
`AGENTHUB_`), the Prometheus metric namespace (`ccam_*` ->
`agenthub_*`), the tmux session prefix (`ccam-lane-<id>` ->
`agenthub-lane-<id>`), the per-repo runtime profile directory
(`.ccam/profile` -> `.agenthub/profile`), the lanes state root
(`~/.claude/ccam-lanes` -> `~/.claude/agenthub-lanes`), the bundled
plugins (`plugins/ccam*` -> `plugins/agenthub*`) and their slash
commands (`/ccam-doctor` -> `/agenthub-doctor`, `/ccam:*` ->
`/agenthub:*`).
Because there is no alias, an existing install has to be updated by
hand: rename its `.ccam/profile` directory and any `CCAM_*` variables,
and reinstall the plugin under its new name.
Two other name families are deliberately left alone here, since they are
not just strings: the `Claude-Code-Monitor` repository/marketplace name,
and the `agent-dashboard` npm package plus its `~/.claude/agent-dashboard`
runtime directory, which holds the live database and needs a migration
rather than a rename.
Verified: server 1406/1406, client 459/459, `grep -i ccam` clean across
tracked files, `openapi.yaml` regenerated (95 paths, unchanged count).
A codex lane's declared stage has always depended entirely on the session
reading AGENTS.md and calling `ccam stage` on its own — no hook, no wrapper,
no enforcement. Two additions make that more reliable without touching the
declared-wins / inferred-never-done invariants:
- LaneConsolePane pre-fills a codex pane's opening prompt with a plain-text
stage-declaration checklist built from the lane's own pipeline_nodes —
the same up-front priming a Claude lane gets from its pre-filled
/ccam:ship-feature-lane skill command, just as prose since Codex has no
slash commands.
- server/lib/codex-nudge.js sweeps every 60s and types a one-line reminder
into a lane's live tmux pane (tmux.sendText, a new literal-text primitive
alongside sendCommand) when its fresh detected_stage has sat undeclared
for over two minutes. It never writes stage/detected_stage itself — any
resulting declaration is still the codex session's own real ccam stage
call, just server-prompted instead of relying on memory alone.
server 1354/1354, client 449/449, tsc clean.
A lane on the 16-node `ship-feature` template showed an untouched pipeline
map and never declared a stage. Four independent causes, fixed at their
shared choke points:
1. Codex emits no hooks, so `touchLaneFromHook` — the only caller of
`stage-detect.detect()`, and correctly pinned to `claude` — could never
see a `codex` lane. New `server/lib/codex-ingest.js` tails Codex's own
rollout journals (`$CODEX_HOME/sessions/**/rollout-*.jsonl`), maps its
tool calls onto the hook-shaped `{tool_name, tool_input}` the matcher
already understands, and feeds the existing detect path plus an
idle/running status mirror under the same guard hooks use. Polled every
`DASHBOARD_CODEX_POLL_MS` ms (default 15000, `0` disables).
2. `resolveLaneArg` matched on cwd alone, so with a claude and a codex lane
at one directory (the composite `idx_lanes_cwd_tool`) a `ccam stage`
call could drive the sibling lane's card. It now resolves by
`--lane` → `CCAM_LANE_ID` → `--tool`/harness marker → owning lane, and
errors naming both candidates rather than picking one. Every pane the
dashboard starts carries `CCAM_LANE_ID` (`tmux new-session -e`, or an
assignment prefix when typing into a live shell pane).
3. `recordDetection`'s declared-wins veto had no exit: a lane left at the
pipeline's last node rejected every detection for the rest of its life.
A declaration on the LAST node no longer vetoes — the pipeline is over
there, so a later detection is new work. Nothing else is relaxed, and
detection still never writes `stage` nor renders `done`.
4. The run console pre-filled the pipeline's Claude slash command into
codex panes, which Codex reads as prose — so the skill that would have
called `ccam stage` never ran. Claude lanes only now.
A codex lane's *declared* stage still depends on the session calling
`ccam stage`; `AGENTS.md` is the only lever CCAM has, so it now says so.
Verified: server 1345/1345, client 441/441, and end-to-end against a real
codex lane row (detected_stage/detected_signal set, declared stage
untouched, no node rendered done).
`claude` only offers bypass in its shift+tab permission cycle when started
with `--allow-dangerously-skip-permissions`, which the pane argv never passed.
A dashboard-started run was therefore stuck cycling plan/auto/manual/
accept-edits, while the same session attached from a real terminal could
reach bypass.
The flag makes bypass SELECTABLE, not enabled — `claude --help`: "Enable
bypassing all permission checks as an option, without it being enabled by
default." The starting mode is still whatever `--permission-mode` says
(`acceptEdits` by default) and `--dangerously-skip-permissions`, which would
actually turn it on, is still never passed. Entering bypass remains an
explicit human shift+tab in the pane, or an explicit
`permissionMode: "bypassPermissions"` on POST /api/run.
spawnRun adopted any existing `ccam-lane-<id>` tmux session without looking
at it, so a Resume issued while the session sat at a bare shell prompt (left
by `ccam lanes shell`, or by a `claude` that had already exited) dropped the
whole argv: no `--resume` ran, no initial prompt was typed, and the API still
answered 200. The lane's DB `run_id` is not set in that case, so the ERUNLIVE
guard in the start route never saw it either.
Reuse the pane instead of erroring: when the session exists and
`#{pane_current_command}` is a shell, type the argv into that pane and record
the run. A pane running a program (a live `claude`, an editor, a build) is
still adopted untouched, so attaching shows what is running rather than typing
over it. `sendCommand` POSIX single-quotes every argument and uses
`send-keys -l`, the only place in tmux.js that composes a command line.
- pty-run.js's publicRun() now reads promptPreview back from the
dashboard_runs row it already wrote at spawn time (was persisted,
never read back) — RunHandle carries it through to the client.
- Workspace.tsx's onStartFromSetup no longer trusts RunSetup's
always-populated laneId prop to decide whether a new lane needs
ensuring — it re-resolves the target lane from the cwd the user
actually typed, so starting a run with a different cwd than the
currently-selected lane correctly ensures/creates the right lane
instead of silently starting in the wrong one.
Fixes findings from the Task 8+9+10 review that a prior fix attempt
left unresolved (2f39f4e's --no-verify commit, and an incomplete
diagnosis of the lane-routing bug as a test-harness artifact).
