- psmux prints `name: 1 windows (created …)` whatever `list-sessions -F`
asks for. Read as names, every live pane looked gone and the heal beat
closed its run (and its tab) within seconds while the session kept
running. tmux.js (and the Update all helper) now take the text before the
first `:` — a session name never holds one.
- `npm run setup` used `(cd client && npm install)`; cmd.exe's ( ) is no
subshell, so `npm run link-cli` ran inside client/ ("Missing script") and
Update now failed on Windows. Now `npm --prefix client install`.
- Update now: an npm step names itself in its error and shows the END of
npm's output (the error, not the warnings), says when it hit the time
limit, and gets 20 min instead of 5.
- #69: tmux applies a pane's `-c` only while its server's own cwd exists.
The server was forked from the dashboard's cwd (the plugin cache dir),
outlives updates, and the old cache dir is pruned — after that every new
pane started in a deleted directory, where `claude` died at once ("run not
found") and a shell printed getcwd errors. tmux calls now run from `/`,
and the pane's sh wrapper cds into its folder itself, which also heals a
tmux server that is already stuck.
- Changes panel: a workspace's extra folders are sections stacked under the
workspace folder (VS Code Source Control style), with Close repository /
Close other repositories on a header's right-click.
- Chat: URLs and absolute paths are links; Claude Code's `[Image: source:]`
line folds into its turn; uploads under `<data dir>/drops/` are listed.
- Update check: a checkout holding commits a newer release lacks reports
`diverged_from_release` instead of offering a fast-forward that can only fail.
Chat UI:
- Each Claude/Codex session keeps its own chat/terminal view; Settings only
sets how new sessions open.
- Composer + menu: upload, project files and folders (#54, also dragged from
the Files/Changes tree), context files, recent uploads, skills, plugins.
- Activity side panel (progress, outputs, files read, uploads, memory,
skills, connectors) with a file preview; edited-file counts per turn.
- Permission-mode chip (Shift+Tab steps, read back from the pane:
server/lib/pane-mode.js, GET|POST /api/run/:id/permission-mode).
- Stop (Esc) while the main agent works; the status is checked per agent
(with session_id /api/agents ignores its status filter) and re-read every
5 s while Stop shows.
- Dropped images shown in the conversation (GET /api/run/drop/:name, the
requester's own drop dir), full-size viewer.
- A plain-text paste over 5,000 characters is attached as pasted-text.txt,
so no prompt reaches tmux/argv limits (#68).
Changes panel: every /api/lanes/:id/git* route takes ?source=<lane_sources
id> (sourceFolder; ENOSOURCE otherwise) and a folder picker switches the
whole panel to a workspace's extra folder (#70).
Server mode S3 (one Linux user per account) — experimental, verified with
fake sudo plus a P6 managed-settings spike on a test account:
- member tmux listing runs in the background (cached, 15 s => unknown);
- transcript snapshot copy is async, chunked, temp file + rename;
- Express Layer patch only on Express 4;
- tmux capturePane/sendKey go to the member's own server.
Docs: the multi-user design moved in as docs/plans/server-mode/README.md
(the AgentHub-Server repo is gone); S3-PLAN P6 result; LANES/API/openapi.
A frozen member (SIGSTOPped tmux server) cost every user one synchronous
3 s block of the event loop per minute (F37's back-off ceiling). Member
listing now runs through async execFile (same 3 s / SIGKILL / 1 MiB
bounds, same back-off) into the listed cache the synchronous readers
(liveSessions, listSessions, listOutput) already use: stale-while-
revalidate, 15 s max age, cold or failing = that member's panes UNKNOWN
(F38 unchanged). A session this process creates or kills is written into
the member's cached answer at once, and a list in flight across that
change is dropped. Host tmux calls, local mode and every click's call
(new-session, send-keys, kill, has-session) are unchanged.
review5's stalled-member test now polls for 4 s past the timeout and
asserts each poll < 100 ms, event-loop stall < 500 ms and one sudo
(old code: first poll 3157 ms).
Server mode can now run each account as its own Linux user (ah-<name>)
when `agenthub server install-system` has set S3 up. The dashboard
reaches a member only through sudo -u / write-as / pane-launch, reads a
member's files only through owner- and type-checked opens, and hooks
are authenticated by peer uid. Local mode and server mode without S3
are unchanged.
EXPERIMENTAL: tested with fake sudo and fake accounts only. It has not
yet been verified on a real install with real member accounts, sudo or
a real Codex login. Do not offer it to real users yet.
- S3 core: provisioning, per-member tmux servers, the proxy key
gateway, shared tools in /opt, dropped capabilities for children
(P0–P5)
- P4: plan and quota per member home
- P6: ~/.claude.json seed; opt-in plugin baseline installed as the
member; managed-settings spike script (not run)
- P7: Codex account pool (`agenthub accounts add --tool codex`)
- Roles merged with main's admin / analyst / developer: analysts write
only their own rows, under S3 as well
- Per-account prefs: one implementation (Chat UI + onboarding)
- Security reviews F1–F49 (five rounds), each fix with a regression
test: symlink/TOCTOU-safe member reads, no host writes in a member
home, credentials and the data dir never served, owner and folder
account must agree, pane tokens bound to the pane's uid, bounded
sudo/tmux/git calls and member reads (no hang or crash from a member),
async route rejections answer 500 instead of exiting
- Docs: docs/SERVER-MODE.md (S3 model, accepted ceilings, operator
runbook), docs/plans/server-mode/S3-PLAN.md, CLAUDE.md S3 rules
Tests: server 2838/2841 (3 need 127.0.0.1:3000, held on this box);
client 1162/1162; tsc clean; headers check passes.

Usage panel (status bar):
- every account shows its plan (Claude subscriptionType, Codex
chatgpt_plan_type, Cursor membershipType, Grok subscriptionTier)
- new quota rows: Cursor CLI (cursor.com usage-summary), Antigravity
(`agy --print /usage`, two model pools; AGENTHUB_AGY_USAGE=0 never runs
agy), Grok Build, Kimi Code, OpenCode Go — each login read from the tool's
own file, sent only to its own host while valid, never refreshed
- in-flight quota reads are shared between tabs
AI Tools catalog: Grok Build (`grok`) and Kimi Code (`kimi`) added;
Gemini CLI, Hermes and OpenClaw removed.

--no-verify: :3000 is taken by another dev server (lane-detect tests);
both suites run by hand — server 2636/2639 (the 3 are :3000), client
1131/1131.
Measured on a copy of a real 1.2 GB / 253K-event database, 10 simulated
browsers + 10 hooks/s for 90 s: event-loop delay p99 1239 ms → 32 ms (max
2.0 s → 94 ms), 266 failed requests → 0, 74 → 111 requests/s served, server
RSS 633 → 346 MB. Entry bundle 975 KB raw → 394 KB (106 KB brotli).
Server
- /api/analytics: the events-table scans run in the read worker
(scoped-stats eventAggregates, read-pool job analyticsEvents); runRead takes
maxAgeMs — analytics 10 s, /api/workflows 30 s — keyed by the args
- /api/workflows/skill-usage: +event_type and a tool_name range instead of
LIKE, so it uses idx_events_tool (784 ms → a few ms)
- idx_events_session_type_tool (session_id, event_type, tool_name,
created_at) replaces idx_events_session_type: covering reads for session
stats, the hook dedupes and the import resume point (1.2 s → 20 ms); 64 MB
cache_size and 256 MB mmap_size on both connections
- WAL: the server sets wal_autocheckpoint = 0 and checkpoints PASSIVE every
DASHBOARD_WAL_CHECKPOINT_MS (5 s) from the read worker's own writable
connection; a failed checkpoint restores the automatic one (hook COMMIT p95
109 ms → 15 ms at 100 hooks/s)
- tmux: one list-sessions answers a whole GET /api/lanes and the heal beat
(liveSessions), shared for 1 s and cleared by this process's new/kill —
GET /api/run's sync spawns had blocked 60 s of a 90 s run; the heal beat
skips tmux when nothing runs; attach options chained into 2 spawns
- hooks: TurnDuration/APIError deduped against one read per hook instead of a
query per transcript entry (23 ms/hook on a 763-turn session); one lane
scan per hook; hourly upserts skip rows that did not grow; frames are sent
after the transaction commits (and after the pane binding); new_event
carries its row id; a split pane's (slot 1–9) hooks no longer rebind the
lane's session_id
- watchdog liveness probe runs ps asynchronously; transcript newline scan via
indexOf; startup subagent backfill fingerprints the files it already checked
- pty attach: backpressure (pause past 1 MB unsent, resume under 256 KB)
- static: hashed assets served from their pre-compressed .br/.gz sibling
Client
- hidden tabs neither refetch on WS events nor poll (useLiveRefresh, panes,
lane cards, git header, changes panel, settings); no per-tab hourly
/updates/check (the server already checks)
- refetch storms throttled (workspace tree/session list 3 s, /api/run only on
a run-key change, notification pane lookup only when shown); WS reconnect
jitter; terminal retry backoff 1.5 → 30 s, stops on 1008
- heavier throttles for aggregates (15 s) and detail views; Monitor keepIfSame;
GET in-flight dedupe in request()
- lazy Dashboard/History, xterm (with the first terminal), lane modals, Sagi
(only while enabled); only the active locale loads; Workspace chunk
prefetched on a /workspace deep link
- Sagi: no work while disabled, pupil via CSS variables, memo avatar
- build: .br/.gz siblings, sourcemap hidden; service worker no longer caches
/assets/ (cache v3 drops the old one)
Tests: scripts/test-server.js drops the GIT_DIR-family variables a hook
exports, so a suite run from a linked worktree's pre-commit can no longer
commit into the real repository or set core.bare.
Docs: ARCHITECTURE, DATABASE, API, DEPLOYMENT, client README,
docs/plans/perf/README.md (audit, checklist, results).
psmux (the WinGet `tmux` on Windows) has no `=name` exact-match targets: it
answered "no server running on session '=agenthub-lane-1'" for a live pane,
so every Windows start reported "the session's command exited as soon as it
started" while the session ran on, and the browser could not attach.
- server/lib/tmux.js: `session`/`pane` targets probe the first live session
once — `=name` failing where the bare name answers means bare names from
then on; real tmux keeps `=name` / `=name:` (it matches by prefix otherwise)
- pty-attach.js and cc-update-all-helper.js use the same targets
- Windows panes: a WinGet tmux runs native programs and there is no `sh`, so
every pane's `sh -c` wrapper died at once ("Command failed: tmux set-option
… mouse on"). paneArgv runs the CLI itself on win32, and a Terminal gets
tmux's own default shell (newSession drops the `--` for an empty argv).
- Plugin UI build: client deps install with --ignore-scripts and tsc/vite run
by the running node instead of `npm run build`. On Windows esbuild's
postinstall went through cmd.exe with no `node` on the server's PATH, both
installs failed, and Update now kept the previous UI. A test keeps the two
build steps equal to client/package.json's build script.
- Update all: Atomics.wait instead of a `sleep` binary Windows lacks.
AI Proxy (was AI Router):
- server/lib/ai-proxies.js, proxy-apply.js, routes/ai-proxies.js mounted at
/api/ai-proxies and the old /api/ai-routers; `router` still accepted on the
start routes; profiles move to <CLAUDE_HOME>/agenthub-proxies/
- dashboard_runs.router renamed in place to proxy: an older build on the same
DB fails on that column, so dev and prod sharing one DB update together
- a proxy's baseUrl stored as its root (a typed /v1 made /v1/v1/messages);
Test probes Claude /v1/messages and Codex /v1/responses
- Settings → AI Proxy (/settings/ai-router redirects), ProxyPicker
Updates:
- every tab reloads onto the new UI build when its WebSocket reconnects to a
server of another version (lib/newBuildReload.ts, once per version)
- Update now stops waiting on a plugin chain that failed or pulled nothing
(the old server never goes down), and reloads as soon as a new version answers
Also:
- a pane whose command exits at once says so (EPANEEXITED) instead of
"Command failed: tmux set-option … mouse on"
- the pane drag preview draws where the pane actually lands
- Changes panel: Files and Changes merged into one panel; the overview's
groups drawn as a folder tree (compacted chains, file counts, fold,
stage/unstage a whole folder)
- AI-suggested commit message for what is staged
(POST /api/lanes/:id/git/commit-message, claude -p --safe-mode, haiku)
- AI Router: optional "Behaves as" Claude model id, written as
modelPicker options into the router's --settings file (issue #56)
- Sidebar: session rows show last activity, live rows their start time;
a closed Terminal row can be removed (DELETE /api/run/history/:id)
- Every pane's CLI starts only once a client is attached; claude panes
no longer forced inline; tmux scrollbar one column wide
- Update notifier: "Check for updates" reopens a closed notice
- GET /api/workflows: one LEAD() window pass in a read worker (read-pool.js,
workflow-stats.js); idx_events_session restored, idx_events_tool added
- compat-sqlite gains function/pluck/readonly so a plugin install without a
better-sqlite3 build boots again; antigravity-usage uses db.js's Database
- install-hooks adds no checkout hooks while the agenthub plugin is enabled
(events were doubled)
- terminal attach runs the live tmux server's own binary; the pane scrollbar
gets a visible 2-column style, and claude panes start with
CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_ALTERNATE_SCREEN=1 so tmux keeps history to scroll
- Codex sessions' conversation in GET /api/sessions/:id/transcript
- Codex/Antigravity sessions claimed by their workspace without hooks
- UI-audit follow-ups, docs and OpenAPI
server/lib/ai-tools.js loads server/data/ai-tools/*.json (38 tools, data from
Orca, MIT) plus DASHBOARD_AI_TOOLS_DIR, detects each CLI by walking PATH, and
keeps enable/default in <data dir>/ai-tools.json. shell-path.js merges the
login shell's PATH at startup and on Refresh. /api/ai-tools lists, refreshes
and toggles; /api/run/binary resolves through the catalog.
Lanes accept any catalog id (EDISABLED for a disabled one on creation, ENOTOOL
at start once a tool left the catalog). pty-run keeps the Claude/Codex
builders and builds every other tool's argv from its catalog file, pasting an
after-start prompt through a tmux buffer; every pane gets the hydrated PATH.
A per-run bypass switch appends the catalog's bypass args (Codex included).
POST /api/run now forwards sandbox/approval/resumeLast, which it dropped.
agenthub lanes add gains --tool.
- tmux targets are exact (`=name`, `=name:` for panes/options): a bare
`-t agenthub-lane-1` resolves by prefix to agenthub-lane-12 once lane 1
is gone, so killing a finished lane could kill another.
- getRun/killRun refuse ids that are not `agenthub-lane-<n>`, so
DELETE /api/run/main can no longer kill a user's own tmux session.
- router/apply reports restart_required only for a running pane; getRun
returns a `gone` handle, so it was always true.
- needs_action is cleared only by the session that raised it (new nullable
lanes.needs_action_session); a second session in the same cwd used to
clear it on its second hook.
A new **AI Router** tab in Settings, next to Codex, stores named router
endpoints (9Router, OpenRouter, a self-hosted gateway) as profiles: a base
URL, an API key, a default model and an optional per-tier override. The tab
only stores them; a lane CHOOSES one in the Add-lane modal, via a Native /
AI Router radio, and that choice is written into the lane's own config.
The two CLIs are configured differently, and the difference is theirs:
- a claude lane gets eight `env` keys merged into its own
`.claude/settings.local.json` (`.local` because the value holds a key);
- a codex lane gets `$CODEX_HOME/<name>.config.toml` — the layer
`codex -p <name>` loads — because Codex has NO project-level config.
Its base `config.toml` is never touched.
Native is a built-in profile rather than a code branch, so "go back to
native" is the same write path. It blanks the two connection variables
instead of removing them (an absent key at project scope lets a USER-level
router apply) and removes the model names instead of writing them (writing
them would override the user's own global model choice).
Key material never leaves the server: profiles live one file each under
`<CLAUDE_HOME>/agenthub-routers/` (0700/0600), `GET /api/ai-routers`
reports only `hasKey`, and there is deliberately no route returning one
profile in full.
Three things this had to get right, each found by review and verified
against the real tools rather than assumed:
- `wire_api = "chat"` is rejected outright by codex-cli 0.149 ("no longer
supported"), so every codex lane on a router would have failed to start.
The layer writes "responses", and writes `env_key` only when the profile
actually has a key — naming an unset variable is itself a startup error.
- The key must never be TYPED into a pane. `tmux.sendCommand` used
`send-keys` with a `KEY='…' cmd` prefix, which the dashboard streams to
every attached browser and bash appends to history; it now takes over the
idle pane with `respawn-pane -k -e`, passing env through argv the way
`newSession` always has. Verified on tmux 3.4: multi-element argv arrives
intact and the pane renders no trace of the value.
- Attaching COPIES a profile, so editing or deleting one in Settings has to
reach the lanes already using it. An edit re-applies it (a rotated key
would otherwise never reach the lane still holding the revoked one); a
delete resets those lanes to native and removes the Codex layer file.
Both report per-lane failures, which the tab surfaces.
`.claude/settings.local.json` is added to the lane's git exclude, for both
native and router lanes: `agenthub lanes reset` runs `git clean -fd` without
`-x`, so an un-excluded settings file is deleted on reset — and untracked
meant the key was committable.
DB: `lanes.router_profile`, nullable, additive. Written only by
`setRouterProfile` beside the disk write, never through `PATCHABLE`.
Clean break, no compatibility alias. Renames the product name, the CLI
binary (`ccam` -> `agenthub`), the env var prefix (`CCAM_` ->
`AGENTHUB_`), the Prometheus metric namespace (`ccam_*` ->
`agenthub_*`), the tmux session prefix (`ccam-lane-<id>` ->
`agenthub-lane-<id>`), the per-repo runtime profile directory
(`.ccam/profile` -> `.agenthub/profile`), the lanes state root
(`~/.claude/ccam-lanes` -> `~/.claude/agenthub-lanes`), the bundled
plugins (`plugins/ccam*` -> `plugins/agenthub*`) and their slash
commands (`/ccam-doctor` -> `/agenthub-doctor`, `/ccam:*` ->
`/agenthub:*`).
Because there is no alias, an existing install has to be updated by
hand: rename its `.ccam/profile` directory and any `CCAM_*` variables,
and reinstall the plugin under its new name.
Two other name families are deliberately left alone here, since they are
not just strings: the `Claude-Code-Monitor` repository/marketplace name,
and the `agent-dashboard` npm package plus its `~/.claude/agent-dashboard`
runtime directory, which holds the live database and needs a migration
rather than a rename.
Verified: server 1406/1406, client 459/459, `grep -i ccam` clean across
tracked files, `openapi.yaml` regenerated (95 paths, unchanged count).
A lane whose sessions never call `ccam stage` had no declaration at all, so
its pipeline map stayed 100% pending even though detection was tracking real
progress. inferredDisplayStage renders such a lane AT its last detection
instead (display only — the DB's declared `stage` and detection-as-evidence
rules are untouched). Also stops tmux's own "no session" stderr noise from
spamming the journal on every poll.
A codex lane's declared stage has always depended entirely on the session
reading AGENTS.md and calling `ccam stage` on its own — no hook, no wrapper,
no enforcement. Two additions make that more reliable without touching the
declared-wins / inferred-never-done invariants:
- LaneConsolePane pre-fills a codex pane's opening prompt with a plain-text
stage-declaration checklist built from the lane's own pipeline_nodes —
the same up-front priming a Claude lane gets from its pre-filled
/ccam:ship-feature-lane skill command, just as prose since Codex has no
slash commands.
- server/lib/codex-nudge.js sweeps every 60s and types a one-line reminder
into a lane's live tmux pane (tmux.sendText, a new literal-text primitive
alongside sendCommand) when its fresh detected_stage has sat undeclared
for over two minutes. It never writes stage/detected_stage itself — any
resulting declaration is still the codex session's own real ccam stage
call, just server-prompted instead of relying on memory alone.
server 1354/1354, client 449/449, tsc clean.
A lane on the 16-node `ship-feature` template showed an untouched pipeline
map and never declared a stage. Four independent causes, fixed at their
shared choke points:
1. Codex emits no hooks, so `touchLaneFromHook` — the only caller of
`stage-detect.detect()`, and correctly pinned to `claude` — could never
see a `codex` lane. New `server/lib/codex-ingest.js` tails Codex's own
rollout journals (`$CODEX_HOME/sessions/**/rollout-*.jsonl`), maps its
tool calls onto the hook-shaped `{tool_name, tool_input}` the matcher
already understands, and feeds the existing detect path plus an
idle/running status mirror under the same guard hooks use. Polled every
`DASHBOARD_CODEX_POLL_MS` ms (default 15000, `0` disables).
2. `resolveLaneArg` matched on cwd alone, so with a claude and a codex lane
at one directory (the composite `idx_lanes_cwd_tool`) a `ccam stage`
call could drive the sibling lane's card. It now resolves by
`--lane` → `CCAM_LANE_ID` → `--tool`/harness marker → owning lane, and
errors naming both candidates rather than picking one. Every pane the
dashboard starts carries `CCAM_LANE_ID` (`tmux new-session -e`, or an
assignment prefix when typing into a live shell pane).
3. `recordDetection`'s declared-wins veto had no exit: a lane left at the
pipeline's last node rejected every detection for the rest of its life.
A declaration on the LAST node no longer vetoes — the pipeline is over
there, so a later detection is new work. Nothing else is relaxed, and
detection still never writes `stage` nor renders `done`.
4. The run console pre-filled the pipeline's Claude slash command into
codex panes, which Codex reads as prose — so the skill that would have
called `ccam stage` never ran. Claude lanes only now.
A codex lane's *declared* stage still depends on the session calling
`ccam stage`; `AGENTS.md` is the only lever CCAM has, so it now says so.
Verified: server 1345/1345, client 441/441, and end-to-end against a real
codex lane row (detected_stage/detected_signal set, declared stage
untouched, no node rendered done).
Sessions created before the mouse-on fix landed (or before the server
restarted to pick it up) never got the set-option call, so their pane
still had no drag/wheel scroll. Moving it into pty-attach's attach()
makes it idempotent per-connection instead of once-at-birth.
Session panes had a scrollbar track but no way to drag it — wheel/drag
events passed straight to the running program instead of entering tmux's
copy-mode scrollback. xterm.js already forwards mouse-tracking escapes
once tmux advertises them, so turning mouse mode on per-session is enough.
spawnRun adopted any existing `ccam-lane-<id>` tmux session without looking
at it, so a Resume issued while the session sat at a bare shell prompt (left
by `ccam lanes shell`, or by a `claude` that had already exited) dropped the
whole argv: no `--resume` ran, no initial prompt was typed, and the API still
answered 200. The lane's DB `run_id` is not set in that case, so the ERUNLIVE
guard in the start route never saw it either.
Reuse the pane instead of erroring: when the session exists and
`#{pane_current_command}` is a shell, type the argv into that pane and record
the run. A pane running a program (a live `claude`, an editor, a build) is
still adopted untouched, so attaching shows what is running rather than typing
over it. `sendCommand` POSIX single-quotes every argument and uses
`send-keys -l`, the only place in tmux.js that composes a command line.
